Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (LMIHMCT), established by the Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society (LMCES) is under the Archdiocese of Changanacherry. LMIHMCT was established primarily to impart quality education in the field of Hotel management. The College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the University of Kerala.

The concept of “hospitality” started from the inherent human trait of caring for other people and grew to become one of the most important industries of the modern age. The hospitality culture is now indispensable and travels much beyond the horizon of time and space.


This industry has undergone a tremendous metamorphosis over the last couple of years, greater degree of competition. This creates a need for new entrepreneurs who wish to plunge, to be supported by no one but the best. A higher emphasis on Quality Management, Customer relationship and a constant change factor are some of the things synonymous to this industry today. To keep up this space, professional consultancy, planning and implementation are an absolute must.


We, at Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (LMIHMCT) provide vital inputs to meet the ever-increasing demands and expectations of entrepreneurs as well as corporate. This is an ever-changing business that constantly challenges and explores the territory of marketing and cuisine. In this institute, the traditional classroom instruction is complemented by off-campus experience and professional practice within various areas in the industry ranging from hotel and food operations to meeting conventions and expositions with participating business in leading hotel industries having tie-up and association with LMIHMCT.


The college, also houses the Hospitality Research and Campus Recruitment Centre. These divisions will interact and assist industry professionals with special projects and provide students with practical experience. Supported by more than 15 full-time faculty, each with considerable professional experience, the College of Hotel Management employees state of the art teaching methodology, and maintain the student teacher ratio of 15:1. Classes are held in aesthetic and spacious buildings, which houses fully equipped classrooms, supplemented by three kitchens, a 150-seat dining room, cafeteria and also features a demonstration kitchen and a computer lab exclusively for College use.
