International Day against Drug abuse and Illicit

The UN General Assembly decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse. The theme for 2018 is: “Listen First – Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe.” It is an initiative to increase support for prevention of drug use that is based on science and is thus an effective investment in the well-being of children and youth, their families and their communities.

The Social Activity Committee of the Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management And Catering Technology observed “International Day against Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking” on 28th of June 2018 with the inauguration of the Anti-Narcotic Club- ‘Vimukthi’.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr.G.Manikandan, Kuttichal Grama Panchayat President by ‘Logo Launching’.

Awareness class on Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking was taken by Mr.G.Rajeev, Sub-Inspector, Excise Range Officer, Aryanad; Mr.Anil Kumar, Preventive Officer, Department of Excise and Mr.Blesson, Civil Excise Officer, Department of Excise, Govt of Kerala.

Felicitation and Oath taking- was headed by Mr.Sudheer Kumar A, Health and Education Standing Committee Chairman, Kuttichal Grama Panchayat.

The International Yoga Day was celebrated at Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology on 21st June, 2018 to imbibe the value of discipline, peace and harmony. It was a great event and each and every student together with our entire staff enjoyed this event to the fullest.

Mrs. Omkari from Canada, Mrs Lekhshmi from Turkey and Mr, Vinod, the yoga teacher from The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram, Neyyar Dam guided the students with different ASANAS and explained their importance in our daily life.
